Chapter 01

The ballot

Whose way do we grow? Each method is public, and each has a page on Grow Like the Greats.

YouTube cultivator · Canada

Mr. Canucks Grow

Beginner-friendly organic grows, explained one calm step at a time.

Keep it organic and keep it simple. Pick forgiving genetics, dial a stable environment, grow in living soil or coco, and let the plant do the work instead of chasing every bottle and gadget.

YouTube craft grower

Basementganja

Craft-tier indoor quality on a home-grower budget.

Obsess over the environment, grow in living soil, and hunt phenotypes. Quality over quantity — a perfectly dialed room and the right cut beat raw wattage every time.

Author & educator · since the 1970s

Ed Rosenthal

The 'Guru of Ganja' — decades of cultivation authority.

Ground every decision in how the plant actually works. Understand the life cycle, give strong light, feed appropriately, and treat every problem as a solvable puzzle with a cause.

Cultivator, educator & breeder

Kyle Kushman

Veganic-growing pioneer and award-winning cultivator.

Veganics: feed the soil's biology with plant-based amendments instead of synthetic salts or animal products, for cleaner, smoother, more flavorful flower. Technique and living soil over bottled shortcuts.

Living-soil company & method · Jeremy Silva

BuildASoil

Water-only living soil and no-till, done right.

Build one complete, biologically complete living soil — then grow water-only, top-dress amendments, run cover crops, and reuse the same soil indefinitely (no-till). The soil gets better every cycle.

Plant physiologist · Utah State / Apogee

Dr. Bruce Bugbee

The science of light, VPD, and plant physiology.

Measure, don't guess. Optimize the environment with data — light intensity and spectrum, VPD, and CO2 — and match every input to what the plant can actually use at that moment.

Chapter 03

Still here

Why I built Lake Erie Cannabis.

When I was fourteen years old, a car ran over me and broke both of my legs.

Lying in that hospital bed, I built a picture in my head of the life I wanted: an education, meaningful work, stability, and enough strength to give something back. I didn’t know then how hard the road would get. I only knew I wanted a life that mattered.

I worked for it. I earned degrees in computer science, business, and information systems. I built a career in technology. I learned construction, caregiving, systems, problem-solving—the kind of work where you take something complicated, figure it out piece by piece, and make it work again.

Then life took turns I never could have planned for.

There were years when I lost direction. Years when I had to look honestly at myself and decide whether I was going to keep running from my life or finally stay and build one. On October 10, 2023, I made a decision that has changed everything: I chose recovery, accountability, and showing up.

In October 2026, I marked three years.

Since then, I have earned my New York State Certified Recovery Peer Advocate credential. I have helped people navigate treatment, insurance, and the first frightening steps of rebuilding. I have gone back to the things I know how to do: learn, create, fix problems, and help people see that a hard chapter does not have to be the final chapter.

That is where Lake Erie Cannabis comes from.

It is not a fantasy. It is not a shortcut. It is something I am building with real work, real curiosity, and the belief that knowledge should be shared—not guarded like a secret.

Lake Erie Cannabis is a 21+ cultivation-education community for people who want to learn, grow, ask questions, make mistakes, and get better. I built it because I know what it feels like to start over. I know how powerful it is when somebody gives you real information without making you feel stupid for not already knowing everything.

Now I am building The People’s Grow: a daily, live “Box to Bowl” grow series, free for every registered member who is 21 or older. We will show the process as it really is—the planning, the work, the lessons, the setbacks, the wins, and the patience it takes to grow something worthwhile.

I want people to see that growth is not magic. It is consistency. It is showing up tomorrow. It is paying attention. It is learning from what went wrong without quitting on what could still go right.

If this mission means something to you, I hope you will support it. Your contribution helps keep the show free, improve the tools and production, and grow a community built on practical knowledge and second chances.

And if you cannot donate, you are still family.

Watch the show. Share it. Learn with us. Be part of it.

I have lived enough life to know that nobody is promised a clean ending. But I also know this: a person can take a hard road, tell the truth about it, and still build something useful.

I am still here.

And I am building.
